Geneva In his status report on the World Trade Organization Trade Negotiations Committee, Doha Development Agenda trade facilitation negotiations Chairman Muhamad Noor Yacob called for intensifying talks in the post-Hong Kong phase by pursuing text-based negotiations clarifying current rules relating to developing countries (see related report this issue).
"Members should be mindful of the overall deadline for finishing the negotiations and the resulting need to move into a focused drafting mode early enough after the Sixth Ministerial Conference so as to allow for a timely conclusion of text-based negotiations on all aspects of the mandate," the chairman
