GENEVA--New World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy outlined Sept. 14 the immediate priorities member governments should focus on in order to ensure a successful outcome at the WTO's Hong Kong ministerial conference in December.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the WTO's Trade Negotiations Committee, which he chairs, Lamy said the goal was to complete two-thirds of the Doha Round negotiations by Hong Kong so that the negotiations can be wrapped up by the end of 2006.
