Korea-US FTA Talks Hit Snag

6 December, 2006

Free trade negotiations with the United States broke down on Wednesday after South Korean negotiators walked out of three committee meetings.

At issue were rules the U.S. uses to protect domestic producers from a surge in imports of foreign products, called anti-dumping rules, along with patent protections for U.S. drug makers and negotiations over trade in the auto industry, according to news reports by the Yonhap News Agency and the Associated Press.
